Jazz at the Grange au Lac

The Evian Resort launches the first edition of "Jazz at the Grange au Lac", co-produced with the Maison des Arts du Léman (Perfoming & Visual Arts Centre), to be held from 16 to 18 December 2016.

Evian has always enjoyed a renowned reputation in the world of music. With its famous "Musical Encounters", created in 1976 by Mstislav Rostropovich and revived in 2014 in collaboration with the Modigliani Quartet, and its incredible "Grange au Lac" auditorium built in 1993 in the grounds of the Evian Resort, it is a place imbued with a special aura. This unique auditorium continues to come vibrantly alive by providing a welcoming venue at which performers, generations, musical genres and audiences from all walks of life come together. 

This new winter festival is totally in keeping with this spirit and over 3 days will showcase all styles of jazz - gypsy, soul, world jazz, funk jazz and more, with performances from some of the leading jazz musicians on the international scene. For the event's first edition, the line-up includes a series of amazing performers including Mario Canonge, Stefano di Battista, Rosenberg, Magic Malik Orchestra, Erik Truffaz and Eric Legnini. 

The two closing concerts will resonate with the decades of chamber music that echo throughout the auditorium, as classical performers come together to perform jazz. A "crossover" between the two styles of music and the two festivals and a nod to the summertime Musical Encounters.
