Croydon Bach Choir

Established in 1960 and still thriving, the Croydon Bach Choir is one of the leading amateur choral societies in the South East.

About

The Croydon Bach Choir is one of the leading amateur SATB choral societies in South London. The choir has a membership of approximately sixty and each season performs a number of concerts in and around Croydon generally engaging professional soloists and orchestras. We also hold two Come and Sing Days each season when we are delighted to welcome guest singers to learn and perform a choral work with us in a day. Our MD Tim Horton is inspirational and charismatic, and accompanist William Munks is both delightful and extremely talented.

We rehearse on a Wednesday evening during term time from 8.00-10.00 pm in St Matthew's Church, Chichester Road, CR0 5NQ, which is easily accessible by public transport. The nearest rail station is East Croydon, and either the 64 or 433 buses stop in nearby Park Hill Road.

We are always delighted to receive applications from good singers for membership of the choir in time for the start of a new term. Previous choral singing experience is an advantage, but an accurate singing voice with a pleasant tone quality, the appropriate voice-part vocal range, a good musical ear and good score-reading skills are more important.
