THE MATCHSTALK MEN are a 5-piece Band specialising in 50s, 60s and (if required), some of their their own original songs. As such they are considered by many to be one of the most versatile bands currently on the circuit.They comprise of original members 'Brian and Michael' (Kevin Parrott and Mick Coleman), who had a No1 selling record with 'Matchstalk Men and Matchstalk Cats and Dogs,' and former Dooley's drummer Nigel Parrott. Other members of the band include former Hornet's singer Tim Coleman and Paula Stephens, known locally as 'Izzit Mee.'Kevin - an acclaimed producer in his own right - along with Mick, an Ivor Novello winning staff songwriter for EMI - have collaborated both individually, and as a team, in the production of many well-known songs and hit records by artistes considered 'household names' in the British music scene. Kevin, Mick and Nigel have also toured for many years playing some of the worlds' most acclaimed and iconic venues in their respective roles as members of 'Carol Keye's and the Big Sound' and 'The Dooleys.'As 'Brian and Michael,' they toured extensively, performing at venues, both nationally and across the globe, including The London Palladium. As such, their skills and experience, as writers, producers, and performers (together now for over 35 years), have made THE MATCHSTALK MEN 60s Band one of the most competent and entertaining bands currently working the circuit. They recently performed at the hugely successful Salford Festival 2013 along with Paul Heaton (former member of The Housemartins and The Beautiful South).
