Cornucopia Festival

Relaxed, family-friendly festival of music, arts and culture with camping at Burton Constable Hall, Skirlaugh. Celebrate the autumn equinox with Cornucopia.

About

Celebrate the special time of the year around the autumn equinox with the cornucopia of delights which is Cornucopia. It has its own unique, chilled atmosphere, despite the plethora of things happening, which is why we say it is Vibrant, Magical and Inspiring. With over 55 musical acts (everything from country to classical, indie, folk, reggae, salsa, gypsy, rock and more) as well as crafts, arts, exhibitions, talks, demonstrations, games, food, beer, theatre, comedy and spoken word there is so much to do for all ages and interests.

The music is presented on 3 stages with excellent sound and fabulous lighting - we are conscious that this is the International Year of Light and we want to make sure our festival looks good as well as sounds good! Our artists come from the local area as well as further afield - including Poland. We are celebrating World Music on the Saturday in the Big Top - Cornucopia is full of surprises! But the music on the Barn and Busking Stages will be just as inspiring.

Our theatre company is producing some unique theatre this year during the festival - a soap opera, no less - whilst there is comedy, the spoken word, exhibitions and talks to inspire you. Join in making some crafts or expend some energy playing games - Sunday is Family Fun Sunday! Sunday is also a day to worship so come along on Sunday morning and sing along with some worship songs. And when you are in need of a little R&R, wind down with a massage or other alternative therapy in our wellness area. Or learn mindfulness.

Food is supplied by local producers with as much as possible sourced close by and includes vegan and vegetarian outlets as well as more traditional festival food. Two of our speakers will be showing you how to improve your nutrition and that of your children, too. Along with food is beer. Great Newsome Brewery is brewing a Cornucopia Festival Ale, which is to be available nationally after the festival as well as during the festival. How exciting is that!

The festival itself is held in the grounds of the beautiful Burton Constable Hall, and also uses some of the old buildings, including the Riding School which becomes our Barn Stage. As much as possible is under cover just in case the weather is a little inclement. But because there is so much space, there is the opportunity for lots of content and camping. A weekend ticket includes free camping. There are also Day Tickets available.

The ethos of the festival is to be as 'green' as possible so everything is recycled. Once we have gone, we have our memories for another year. To see what Cornucopia was like last year visit http://www.cornucopiafestival.co.uk/
