About
The Piccadilly Dance Orchestra (and our smaller group, 78rpm Jazz Band) - are recognised for the past twenty-five years as superb entertainment to a very high standard - and much sought-after for concert and cabaret performances as well as for private parties and corporate events.
From the Charleston of the 1920s Gatsby era through the beautiful classic songs of the 1930s, to swing and jazz hits, Michael Law's Piccadilly Dance Orchestra (and their smaller group, 78rpm) play the greatest dance music and the best tunes of the Jazz Age. The PDO played regularly for dancing at The Ritz and Savoy Hotels and have recorded six CDs. Acclaimed worldwide for their spirited recreations of the music of the British Dance Bands, Michael and the PDO were especially chosen for BBC 4's highly successful Len Goodman's Dancing Feet and have just filmed a sequel: Len Goodman's Dance Band Days. The PDO was also chosen by Michael Parkinson for a gala Help For Heroes Ball - and following their concert at John Dankworth and Cleo Laine's Wavendon theatre: "this was probably the most entertaining evening I can remember...the orchestra is really superb". Catch The PDO in the Helen Mirren/Michael Caine movie Last Orders. 78rpm Jazz Band
