PUT SOME “HWYL” INTO YOUR 2017 FESTIVAL OR EVENT
This multi-instrumental and vocal sextet celebrated their 20th anniversary in 2016 in some style. There were successful festival appearances at Shepley Spring, Gŵyl Nol ac Mlan, Eisteddfod Genedlaethol Sir Fynwy a’r cyffiniau and Schots Weekend, Bilzen, Belgium. Corporate work included the ESTNET awards performing on the stage of the Donald Gordon Theatre at Wales Millennium Centre; the premiere social event in Cardiff for a Claifornian High School’s choir UK tour, and our first folk club gig in ages. Plus AYYF had over 20,000 people dancing to its’ twmpath music in Bute Park Cardiff as part of the mammoth Roald Dahl centenary celebrations “City of the Unexpected.”
In September the band released its new album “NEWiD”, toured in Germany and Belgium to standing ovations at every show, and embarked on its first tour of the home country since 2012. The Taith 6 & 20 Tour celebrated the 20th anniversary of the band, as well as the release of the band’s 6th album, including performances at Lyric Theatre, Carmarthen; Neuadd Dwyfor, Pwllheli; The Welfare, Ystradgynlais; Blackwood Miner’s Institute and The Met Abertyleri and five other venues across Wales.
