About

Dik is best known as bassist, fiddle player, guitarist and vocalist with ‘70’s folk-rockers Decameron and bassist and vocalist with former Genesis guitarist Steve Hackett. He has also worked with numerous performers including Mike D’Abo, The Manfreds, Steve Ashley, Mike Edwards, and Decameron‘s Johnny Copppin, as MD in international party band Top Catz and alongside former Steve Hackett vocalist Pete Hicks as one half of the duo Cadbury-Hicks. He still plays in Mike D’Abo’s Mighty Quintet and Trio, the MQ splinter group The Connection (alongside MQ guitarist Steve Degutis and drummer Owen Howell plus guitarist Glyn Durban) and as guitarist/vocalist with Johnny Coppin and Paul Burgess in Johnny’s annual Christmas show ‘All On A Winter’s Night’.

Dik also performs solo and alongside singer-songwriter Lee Fardon. He has written a considerable number of songs, both solo and in collaboration with Dave Bell (Decameron) and Pete Hicks. Many of these appear on his debut CD ‘About Time’ (1999) and the follow-up CD ‘Winds of Change’ (2016); also on the self-produced ‘Cadbury-Hicks’ CD (2015), a collection of ‘americana-style’ songs written and produced in collaboration with Pete and featuring a cameo performance by Steve Hackett on harmonica.

As a session bassist, guitarist and vocalist, Dik is also involved with a number of ‘remote’ recording projects, currently with clients in the USA and Italy, working from his London recording facility.
