Multi talented steelpan soloist, percussionist and vocalist Dex Marchan offers entertainment for events and functions of all kinds from calypso, reggae, jazz and soul, to the latest pop, standards and ballads.

Dexter began playing Steel Pan in 1985 when he joined Fonclaire. He also played in Skiffle and Phase2 at the National panorama competition in Trinidad.

He participated in the Steelband Music Festival with Skiffle in 1988 and with Super Vybes in 2000 World Steel band Festival where on both occasions were in winners row.

Some of Dex’ s highlights were playing at the Trinidad and Tobago High Commission , the Queen’s jubilee, Regent’s Street World festival, Chelsea flower show and playing for Fidel Castro's 70th birthday to name a few.
He has toured France, England, Scotland and also performed on the Princess Cruise Ship.

Dex is base in London where he has played with Stardust, CSI, and Metronomes at the Notting hill carnival.
He has played with a number of talented musicians gigging at numerous events throughout the UK. Events include hotels, pubs, weddings, corporate functions, birthday parties, gardens and parks.

Dex has put on workshops at care homes where the residents participated in playing and dancing to the sweets steelpan music.
Events and workshops in school are themed around steelpan history, music theory and practical and teambuilding.

Dex usually play solo, but can put together freelance musicians to form duets, trios etc., for any event that just wants great entertainment!
