The Moods new single and film soundtrack

Following a non-stop 2016 that included sell-out gigs, great reviews, an artist development deal and a movie soundtrack, the rest of 2017 is looking very good for The Moods. As well as their appearance on live EP Music from the North, recorded at Band on the Wall in October, the 9-strong band is psyched to announce the release of their first album on 8th September, heralded by a massive launch gig at Manchester’s historic O2 Ritz.

2017 sees the launch of film Strangeways Here We Come, starring Michelle Keegan, Lauren Socha and Nina Wadia. Makers of the Salford-set, darkly-comic feature film chose not one but two of The Moods’ tracks for the soundtrack, testament to the fact that their sound captures the atmosphere of northern urban life.

As part of their artist development deal with Salford-based A1M Records, The Moods are working with a collective of passionate industry professionals to make sure their mighty music receives the regional and national exposure that it thoroughly deserves.

The Moods’ message is loud and clear. This 9-strong band unifies rap, brass and beats, delivering potent, political lyrics for a post-2016 world. The Moods will make you dance, and then they’ll make you think.

Hear The Moods alongside Manchester’s greatest new musical talent on the Music from the North EP, out on limited edition CD and digital release on 29th April 2017. Catch their infectious, raucous live show at festivals across the UK this summer, A new single Joy, the first taken from the new album, will also be released on A1M records in mid-June, promoted by UK-wide gigs, including Sheffield, Liverpool, Preston and Bolton, with additional festival and UK dates released soon.
