The Libertines, The Vaccines and Franz Ferdinand headline Truck Festival for 20th Anniversary

Celebrating an incredible 20 year anniversary the award winning Truck Festival has today announced its first wave of artists for this year’s festival with The Libertines, The Vaccines, and Franz Ferdinand headlining.

Topping the bill on Friday night are award-winning art-rockers Franz Ferdinand. Famous for a string of hits including ‘Take Me Out’ and ‘Matinee’ the trio are sure to ignite the party. It will certainly not be a show to miss.

Headlining Saturday night is arguably one of the most exciting, influential and chaotic indie rock bands of the past 20 years - The Libertines. Guaranteed to deliver a memorable set of classics their performance is sure to be a highlight.

Providing a spectacular finale for the festival are platinum-selling rockers The Vaccines. Selling over one million records worldwide and eager media anticipation for their fourth studio album, the post-punk four-piece will be crafting a unforgettable set blending new material with old favourites. 

Other confirmed acts include indie popsters The Wombats, nu-punk duo Slaves, Maximo Park, Nothing But Thieves andNew Orleans based outfit Hot 8 Brass Band who blend hip-hop, jazz and funk styles with traditional New Orleans brass sounds.

Headlining the Market Stage on Friday night are psychedelic dance act Jagwar Ma while hip-hop musician Loyle Carner and Scottish rockers Twin Atlantic take the top spot on Saturday and Sunday. Elsewhere on the impressive bill are indie rock group Sundara Karma who’ll beperforming a mixture of old favorites and new hits from their latest studio album, “Youth is Only Ever Fun in Retrospect’, British Sea Power, Vant, Cabbage, Palace, The Magic Gang, Tom Grenan, All Them Witches, Jaws, Roam, Will Joseph Cook, Lawrence Taylor, Inheaven, Goat Girl, The Shimmer Band, Tigercub, Crows, Yonaka, Banfi, Willie J Healey, Slotface, Francobollo, Life, Abattoir Blues, Dead Pretties, Weirds, Husky Loops, Peaness, Leader and Pedder.

Said Festival Director Matt Harrap: “2017 is our 20th anniversary - we were determined to pull out all the stops and deliver something incredible and I’m proud to say I think it’s our best line-up yet. The bill is literally packed with some of the best talent from around the globe and our headliners are bona fide legends.

“With plenty more to announce in the coming weeks I think its safe to say Truck Festival’s 20th birthday party is going to be truly spectacular.”

Renowned as one of the longest running small festivals in the country, Truck Festival is a small, independent, family friendly music festival taking place over the weekend of the 21 – 23 July, 2017, at Hill Farm, Old Marston, Oxford.

Revelers can expect an eclectic mix of live music and DJ performances from the best global talent as well as a medley of locally sourced food markets and ale stalls, Silent Discos, the Nighthawk Cinema and a family area hosting themed games, races and sandpits, and much, much more. 2017 will also welcome the return of the nations number one fitness guru and old favoutite, Mr Motivator who’ll be spreading feel good fun with his legendary routines live from the Truck Stage. It’s not to be missed!

This years event is seeing the greatest demand for tickets with tier one, two and three already sold out. A limited amount of tier four tickets are currently on sale, priced at £105.00 (inc. booking fee) for adults (Children aged 12 and under go free) and available via the festival’s official website.
