RNIB launches flagship music event ‘SEE THROUGH SOUND’

RNIB (Royal National Institute of Blind People) launched its flagship music event ‘SEE THROUGH SOUND’ in London last night. The invited audience wore ‘sim specs’ (glasses that simulate reduced vision) to enjoy performances by Newton Faulkner and Andy Jordan while gaining a brief insight into living with sight loss. The launch was hosted by Paralympic judo player Marc Powell.

The inaugural ‘SEE THROUGH SOUND’ concert, which will take place at Cadogan Hall in London on Friday 14th October 2016, will bring together some of the UK's most promising breakthrough acts, including Andy Jordan, alongside established artists for an evening of live music in support of the RNIB. This very special event will feature artists from a range of musical genres and to accompany the fantastic auditory experience audience members will be given ‘sim specs’ to wear during the concert.

Wanda Hamilton, Group Director of Fundraising at RNIB, said: "We're delighted to launch the RNIB See Through Sound music event which aims to both entertain and educate music fans and provide them with the opportunity to experience live music in a whole new way. We're excited about the main event coming up in October which will support us in achieving our goal of making every day better for the 2 million people living with sight loss across the UK. "
