BERKOFEST, the boutique family-friendly music festival in Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire returns for a fourth year this September with an incredible line up. Set in the natural amphitheatre of the Chilterns, the event has become synonymous with showcasing established and emerging talent across three music stages. Festival goers will also be treated to the best of local food and drink, and plenty of entertainment for the kids and those who are young at heart.

James Walsh is one of Britain’s finest contemporary musicians and will be treating us to a solo acoustic set. James came to prominence as both the frontman and driving force behind the band Starsailor, and will be performing songs from his superb solo album Turning Point and of course, from the Starsailor back catalogue. These include the top 40 hits ‘Silence is Easy’ ‘Lullaby’ ‘Four to the Floor’ ‘Alcoholic’ and ‘Good Souls’.

Successful duo Miles Hunt and Erica Nockalls have been touring all over the world, and will be performing acoustic tracks from their own albums in addition to The Wonder Stuff material. Including those great hits ‘The Size of the Cow’ and ‘Welcome to the Cheap Seats’.

Republica dominated the charts in the Nineties especially with their iconic world wide hit ‘Ready to Go’ and exploded back in 2013 with a new EP, UK tour and festival slots. The band's iconic and fiery front woman, Saffron, Tim Dorney (keyboard) and Johnny Male (guitar) rode the Britpop wave of female-fronted rock bands.

Broadcaster and stream-of-consciousness comedian Robin Ince is back by popular demand as the host of BerkoFest. He is one half of BBC Radio 4 Show ‘The Infinite Monkey Cage’ with Professor Brian Cox and is a regular contributor on Steve Lamacq’s BBC 6Music show.

The bold and brassy Hackney Colliery Band is back to entertain for the second consecutive year. BerkoFest’s favourite, the very mischievous singer/songwriter Shane Lamont is also here to entertain, along with exciting emerging talent performing in The Swan Youth Centre and Vee's New Music Tent.

Throughout the day there will be a range of tomfoolery for all the family to enjoy including drum workshops, face painting and Sandy Art. Local craft beer will be supplied by Haresfoot Brewery’s Ale tent, and for foodies, exotic and delicious cuisine is available in abundance from well-known local eateries including Mario’s ice cream, Porters and Cinnamon Travelling Café.

“BerkoFest is all about quality and quirky music at affordable prices, and I think with this year’s amazing eclectic line we have achieved that,” explains festival founder Charlie Hussey. “It’s also about loving local, and some of the monies raised will be supporting local charities including the Swan Youth Centre which again has its own music stage at this year’s event.”

James Walsh declares “I am really forward to playing BerkoFest. There’s a great line up of established and up and coming acts local to the area and beyond. Also did somebody mention carefully selected crafted beer? Lovely! See you there!”
